Applying for an Authorized Dealer (AD) Code online using a digital signature involves several steps. Here’s a general guide on how to do it:
Step 1: Obtain a Digital Signature Certificate (DSC)
- Choose a Certifying Authority (CA): Select a CA authorized by the government (e.g., eMudhra, Sify, etc.) to issue Digital Signature Certificates.
- Apply for DSC: Fill out the required forms and provide necessary documents like identity proof, address proof, and a photograph.
- Verification: Complete the verification process as per the CA’s requirements, which might involve an in-person verification or video verification.
- Receive DSC: Once verified, you’ll receive the DSC in a USB token.
Step 2: Prepare Documents for AD Code Registration
- PAN Card of the Business
- GST Registration Certificate
- Bank Account Details (including a letter from the bank with the bank’s IFSC code and the bank account number)
- IEC (Importer Exporter Code)
- Bank Authorization Letter: This should be on the bank’s letterhead and include the bank manager’s signature and stamp.
Step 3: Apply for AD Code Online
- Visit DGFT Website:
- Go to the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) website (https://www.dgft.gov.in/).
- Log in with your credentials or register if you are a new user.
- Navigate to the AD Code Registration Section:
- After logging in, navigate to the section for AD Code registration under the IEC profile management.
- Fill in the Application Form:
- Fill out the necessary details like your IEC code, bank details, and other relevant information.
- Attach the required documents, such as the bank certificate and letter.
- Sign the Application with DSC:
- Once the application is complete, attach your DSC to sign the application digitally.
- Make sure that the DSC is connected to your computer via the USB token, and use the DSC management tool (provided by the certifying authority) to sign the application.
- Submit the Application:
- After digitally signing, submit the application online.
- You will receive an acknowledgment with a reference number that you can use to track your application status.
Step 4: Track Your Application
- Use the reference number provided during submission to check the status of your AD Code application on the DGFT website.
Step 5: Approval and AD Code Issuance
- Once your application is processed and approved by the DGFT, your AD Code will be issued.
- You will receive an email notification with your AD Code details, and you can also download it from the DGFT portal.
